CHAP Earns ANCC Accreditation to Award Nursing Contact Hours, Elevating our Commitment to Learning Excellence

Washington, D.C. – September 8, 2025 – Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP), the nation’s first and only accreditor dedicated exclusively to home and community-based care, is proud to announce its accreditation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a provider of Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD). This milestone enables CHAP to independently award nursing contact hours for our educational offerings.

The ANCC accreditation recognizes CHAP’s adherence to evidence-based standards in professional development and affirms its role as a leader in quality education for nurses and healthcare professionals. CHAP joins a select group of organizations nationally recognized for delivering high-impact, outcomes-driven learning experiences.

“This accreditation is not a new direction, it’s a reaffirmation of the standards we’ve always held ourselves to,” said Jan Sweat, Vice President of Learning Solutions at CHAP. “We’ve built our educational platform to be practical, innovative, and deeply aligned with the realities of home-based care. Now, with ANCC accreditation, our learners gain even more value from every hour they invest.”

Why It Matters

CHAP’s ANCC-accredited status means nurses and clinical leaders can now earn contact hours directly through CHAP’s learning programs, including career certifications, accreditation intensives, and on-demand learning.

This accreditation enhances CHAP’s ability to support workforce development, improve care quality, and foster operational excellence across the home-based care continuum.

“We’ve always believed that education should be more than informative—it should be transformative,” said Nathan DeGodt, CHAP President & CEO. “ANCC accreditation validates our commitment to delivering learning that drives real-world impact for providers and patients alike.”
