As Vice President of Innovation, Ellison is responsible for identifying new opportunities for CHAP and the Center for Excellence, while working with internal and external stakeholders to align resources and ensure that systematically we are positioned to pivot into emerging directions.
Ellison has been in the healthcare industry for over 15 years as a business development executive, with a primary focus in home health and hospice. Most recently, she maintained oversight of 16 locations, and led a team of 45 business development representatives to achieve goals in Texas, Arizona, California, and Oregon.
Her passion lies in building business and helping foster new pathways. After spending 10 years at Kindred, she was attracted to an opportunity at Amedisys to enter the Texas market. During her tenure, she uncovered and maximized opportunities that enabled Amedisys hospice to grow their average daily census from 32 patients per day to over 650 in her region. Consequently, this resulted in surpassing budgeted goals and consistent year-over-year growth.
Ellison successfully negotiated target facility contracts, assisted in managed care opportunities, and earned key preferred provider relationships that contributed to exponential growth. Additionally, she executed four de novo locations which expanded reach and provided optimal patient care coverage. Notably, two of the sites would be recognized amongst the fastest growing startup locations at Amedisys.
