Home Health: License and Certificate of Need approval required

  • Acreditation is Required

AO accreditation is required for HH (GA ADC 111-2-2-.32 – (i) “An applicant for a new home health agency shall provide evidence of the intent to meet the appropriate accreditation requirements of the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO), the Community Health Accreditation Program, Inc. (CHAP), and/or other appropriate accrediting agencies. (j) An applicant for an expanded home health agency shall provide documentation that they are fully accredited by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO), the Community Health Accreditation Program, Inc. (CHAP), and/or other appropriate accrediting agency.);

  • Home Care/PD – approved with conditions, for accreditation in lieu renewal licensure (111-8-65.08 – 111-8-65-.08 Inspections and Plans of Correction.
    1. Providers shall be inspected by the department periodically; provided, however, the department may exempt a provider from such periodic inspections if it is certified or accredited by a certification or accreditation entity recognized and approved by the department.
      • (a) A provider seeking exemption from on-site inspection shall be required to submit to the department documentation of certification or accreditation, including a copy of its most recent certification or accreditation report.)
