Mary Jane (MJ) Ruppert Joins CHAP as Director of Regulatory Affairs

CHAP is pleased to welcome Mary Jane (MJ) Ruppert, RN, CHC as our new Director of Regulatory Affairs.

MJ brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in home health and hospice, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance, clinical excellence, and operational strategy.

Throughout her career, MJ has overseen multi-state operations, led clinical services, and driven quality initiatives for large provider organizations navigating complex regulatory environments and industry consolidation. She has guided teams through major transitions, including mergers and acquisitions, and has a proven track record of supporting providers as they adapt to evolving payment models and compliance requirements.

In her new role at CHAP, MJ will lead regulatory strategy and engagement, working closely with federal and state organizations and committees to advocate for the value of home health and hospice benefits.

This work is critical for CHAP-accredited agencies, as it ensures they have a strong voice in shaping policies that impact care delivery, reimbursement, and compliance requirements. By staying ahead of regulatory changes and advocating for providers at the highest levels, MJ will help CHAP agencies remain competitive, compliant, and prepared for the future.

MJ shares, “I’m passionate about ensuring that home health and hospice providers have the support they need to deliver exceptional care. Joining CHAP gives me the opportunity to advocate for the value of these services and work collaboratively with state and federal stakeholders to strengthen standards across the industry.”

About CHAP:

CHAP is an independent, nonprofit organization accrediting providers of home and community-based care. Founded in 1965, CHAP was first to recognize the need for and value of home and community-based care standards and accreditation. As a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)–approved accrediting organization, CHAP surveys organizations providing home health, hospice, and home medical equipment services to establish if Medicare Conditions of Participation and DMEPOS Quality Standard are met and recommend certification to CMS. CHAP’s purpose is to partner with organizations nationwide to advance quality in the delivery of care and services in the home and community.
