Healing Hands Becomes First Home Health Agency in the Nation to Achieve CHAP High-Acuity Care at Home Certification
Wichita Falls, TX – August 21, 2025 – Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP), the nation’s first and only accreditor dedicated exclusively to home and community-based care, is proud to announce that Healing Hands Healthcare, led by CEO Summer Napier, has become the first home health provider in the United States to achieve CHAP’s High-Acuity Care at Home Certification.
The two-day, on-site certification survey was completed on August 20, 2025, in Wichita Falls, Texas. The rigorous process included home visits, record and personnel reviews, and interviews with staff, patients, and families. This landmark achievement validates Healing Hands’ commitment to delivering advanced, hospital-level interventions in the home setting.
Setting a New Standard in Home-Based Care
Healing Hands has long been a leader in patient-centered innovation, providing traditional home health and advanced care services. With the addition of high-acuity care, their patients can now transition directly from the hospital—or receive intervention during an exacerbation—without leaving the home.

Services include:
- Remote patient monitoring with daily check-ins
- Multidisciplinary care with physicians, practitioners, nurses, therapists, social workers, and aides
- Access to stat labs, X-rays, pharmacy, DME, and infusion
- Specialized training and competencies for staff in advanced technology and equipment
- Exceptional care coordination designed to prevent avoidable hospitalizations
“Summer and her team are deeply committed to keeping patients safe at home by delivering the highest level of skilled, coordinated care,” said Teresa Harbour, COO of CHAP. “Their staff demonstrated remarkable skill, compassion, and proficiency in high-acuity care, and they’ve set the bar for what is possible in this next era of home-based care.”
Why High-Acuity Certification Matters
High-acuity home programs are expanding rapidly, but not all are created equal. CHAP’s certification provides agencies with:
- Credibility with hospitals, payers, and regulators
- Stronger collaboration with referral partners
- Structured processes to mitigate clinical and operational risk
- Shared expectations through aligned training and workflows
- Differentiation in competitive markets
- Readiness for value-based models requiring proven delivery capability
Healing Hands was an inaugural member of CHAP’s Community Advisory Group and served as a pilot site in the development of the High-Acuity Care Standards.
“When Sara Tyra and I founded Healing Hands Healthcare in 2018, our vision was simple but bold: to build the most forward-thinking, mission-driven home-based care organization possible — one that brings healthcare home in a way that honors the physical, spiritual, emotional, and every other unique needs of every patient,” said Summer Napier, CEO of Healing Hands. “Today, becoming the first in the nation to receive CHAP’s High Acuity Care at Home certification is a profoundly meaningful milestone. We are deeply grateful for CHAP’s unwavering dedication to guiding our industry with the highest standards of quality and safety.”
