Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP) Appoints Timothy Safley, MBA, RRT, as Strategic Advisor to its DMEPOS Program
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Arlington, VA | January 2nd, 2026
Arlington, VA — Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP), the nation’s first accrediting body solely dedicated to care in the home, today announced the appointment of Timothy Safley, MBA, RRT, as Strategic Advisor to its Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) program. Safley brings more than three decades of leadership across DMEPOS, specialty and infusion pharmacy, and home health/hospice, including senior roles in national provider operations and the development of accreditation programs at a national accrediting organization.
Drawing on his combined provider and accreditor experience, Safley will help CHAP advance practical, non-prescriptive standards that strengthen compliance while supporting real-world operations in DMEPOS and adjacent service lines. He will also support CHAP’s education roadmap, simplifying self-evaluation tools and provider resources to make accreditation readiness more attainable and effective for organizations of all sizes.
“CHAP’s standards focus on what’s truly required without adding unnecessary burden in complying with CMS quality standards,” said Timothy Safley. “My goal is to help DMEPOS and pharmacy providers navigate upcoming regulatory changes and apply accreditation in ways that improve daily operations and, ultimately, help patients with activities of daily living, which in turn decreases the cost of care”.
Safley’s background also includes leading ACHC’s home infusion and specialty pharmacy accreditation programs for over 6 years, competing successfully with other national accrediting bodies; operational leadership as Regional Vice President for a national home care supplier; and management experience in infusion clean-room operations. He previously served as acting director of Duke Home Health & Hospice and was recognized with the Distinguished Service Award by the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy (NASP) in 2019.
“Tim’s cross-functional expertise covering DME, infusion, specialty pharmacy, and home health aligns seamlessly with CHAP’s mission to improve lives,” said Teresa Harbour, COO, CHAP. “His work will support providers in applying CHAP’s innovative, practical standards to boost quality, compliance, and growth.”
